Grand Final fever has hit the Sunshine State.
More than 80 Grand Finals will be played across eleven venues over five action-packed weekends, with the premier Bond University QAFLW Grand Final being held at Brighton Homes Arena on Sunday August 27th. This is the second time the QAFLW competition will play at this venue.
Venues stretch as far north as Cazalys Stadium, Cairns, west to Legends Oval, Mt Isa, and south to Fankhauser Reserve, Southport.
The McDonald’s South East Queensland Juniors competition will see 43 Grand Finals fought over three days in Brisbane, Gold Coast and the Sunshine Coast.
Head of AFL Queensland, Trisha Squires, said it will be a riveting few weeks.
“We have experienced another record year in participation and I am so looking forward to watching the skills and expertise of our community footy players across the state,” she said.
“With a state as big as Queensland hosting more than 80 Grand Finals at eleven different venues, is testament to the growth of our game.
“We would not be able to host these Grand Finals without the support of clubs and our hardworking volunteers, coaches and umpires.
“I encourage as many people as possible to head to their local Grand Final Days and watch the incredible talent we have to offer.”
